Supplementary Resources (SR) was allocated to provide
greater coverage within England for Motor Neurone Disease
(MND) and Huntington’s Disease (HD). The geographical region of coverage for
the SR is far reaching and covers a number of trusts linked through the three
main hub trusts:
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the
host trust and thus provides financial and managerial co-ordination of the SR
resources and staff throughout the network. Professor Pamela Shaw based at The
University of Sheffield is the Lead for MND and Professor Anne Rosser based at Cardiff University leads for HD.
Co-ordination of the recruitment of patients,
participants and clinical teams, for both large scale multi-centre research and
local/pilot studies occurs through these main hub trusts, with priorities for
the SR concentrating on greater access to research projects/trials for patients
(developing methods for retention of participants) and more efficient recruitment
methods to portfolio projects. If you require any further information on the SR please do not hesitate to contact: Hannah Nixon DeNDRoN Supplementary Resources Co-ordinator N127 Royal Hallamshire Hospital Glossop Road Sheffield S10 2JF Tel: 0114 226 1490 Fax: 0114 271 3158
