The
DeNDRoN Clinical Studies Groups (CSGs) represent a central component
of a new framework for neurodegeneration research in the UK,
providing the primary route through which studies will be adopted by
the Network, and through which new ideas for clinical trials are
developed.
The
CSGs are charged with the development of a portfolio of national
multi-centre and local/pilot clinical trials and
other well-designed studies. The CSGs work to a broad, but
common remit that includes overseeing existing studies, considering
new research questions, developing proposals and securing funding
from CRC partners, as well as providing expert advice. Each of the
CSGs will be formally constituted, with a system of membership
rotation and a transparent appointment process for new Chairs.
Each
CSG will be set up and initially chaired by the DeNDRoN Associate
Director for each disease area.
