About CSGs: Structure & Accountability

The DeNDRoN Coordinating Centre (DeNDRoN CC) is responsible for the overall management of the Groups on behalf of the NIHR.  The DeNDRoN CC has offices in London and Newcastle , and the Newcastle office will take a lead in supporting the CSGs.  The Groups are also supported by the MRC Clinical Trials Unit in London and Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit. The DeNDRoN CC works with Groups, as required, to develop processes and systems to enable them to work effectively.

Whilst ultimately accountable to DeNDRoN (via the DeNDRoN OSG) the overall responsibility for the activity and performance of the Groups and any developments rests with the individual Groups. The linked document (right) outlines the relationship between CSGs and the rest of DeNDRoN.

The specific organisation and structure of each Group is determined by members in collaboration with the DeNDRoN OSG. Groups meet two to three times yearly. Sub groups and working parties can be established with work being shared between these depending on the nature of the activity. Formal links with local DeNDRoN networks (LRNs) are encouraged. Regular dialogue in between meetings by teleconferencing/ email/ web discussions is expected.

The effectiveness and composition of the Group will be considered as part of the triennial review of its portfolio.
