About the CSGs:  Aims & Objectives

The Groups should aim to bring together the expertise and enthusiasm necessary to establish them as an authoritative voice in the Dementias & Neurodegenerative Diseases research community. Each Group has the following generic objectives. Individual groups may have additional objectives as agreed by members and with DeNDRoN Operational Steering Group (OSG):

  • Be responsible for developing and overseeing a portfolio of studies;
  • Identify gaps in research topics;
  • Propose and develop new trials and other well-designed studies, and submit applications for approval;
  • Consider studies proposed by others and advise the DeNDRoN Study Adoption Committee where required;
  • Consider international studies for inclusion in the portfolio;
  • Receive inputs from UKCRN, DeNDRoN Directors and Dementias & Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Funders;
  • Provide Dementias & Neurodegenerative Diseases strand-specific advice, as required, to DeNDRoN OSG and DeNDRoN Directors;
  • Undergo peer review of their overall portfolio 3-yearly;
  • Ensure patient and carer involvement in activities.
