Clinical Trials Doctor/Research Fellow, SpR Level, Thames Valley DeNDRoN (Oxford)
A flexible post for a Clinical Trials Doctor is being created within the
Thames Valley Dementias and
Neurodegenerative Diseases Local Research Network (DeNDRoN).
This post (which is not a training post) will
provide the successful applicant with a comprehensive experience in the
conduct, management and statutory demands of clinical trials and other well
designed research studies in the fields of dementias and neurodegenerative diseases.
The appointment is on a whole-time or part-time basis. The aptitude and
experience of candidates is as important as the level of their formal
qualifications. Funding by DH
Flexibility and Sustainability Funding for 6 months in the first instance is
available for up to 1.0 whole time equivalent. Applicants with a relevant
CCST or substantial relevant experience, who could work not less than 3
sessions per week would be eligible.
Less well qualified candidates would need to be able to work at least 5
sessions per week. Suitably qualified
job-share candidates are encouraged to apply.
The post holder will be a member
of the DeNDRoN team and will contribute to a portfolio of clinical trials
across
Thames
Valley
(
Berkshire
, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire &
Northamptonshire). Responsibilities will include: recruitment, monitoring and
management of trial patients; collection
and documentation of accurate data including adverse event data; submission of
ethics and R&D applications; training staff in the use of assessment instruments. Attention to detail and accuracy of data
completion are essential attributes, as is access to a car and full driving licence.
The post holder will be required to travel across the Thames Valley DeNDRoN
area.
